2D: Animation: Motion Graphics: Logo

This was a project for an Adobe After Effects class I took. We had to make a 5 to 10 second long studio logo and animate it anyway we liked. I used 3D Studio Max to make the light rays for the first part, (since the After Effects I was using at the time didn't have the light rays plug-in) and simple After Effects animation for the rest. I ended up winning an award for the best logo in the class.

This is a ten second logo I created for my friend Matt Stubstad and his film company. The logo itself was designed by my friend Jesse Chappo, and I did the animation. Matt wanted something that evoked the memories of old film reels, so I decided to create the film count down out of his logo. To make this I used Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects.

2D: Animation: Motion Graphics: Titles

I was asked to create these titles for my friend Matt Stubstad's student film Ten Years Time. The film is about a man who is wrongfully accused of a crime and sent to prison for ten years. This project was done in Photoshop and After Effects.

2D: Animation: Motion Graphics: Commercial

For my After Effects class we had to create a commercial for any product we wanted, but we could only use still images. I chose to do a commercial for Shadow of the Colossus, since I thought it was a cool game, and had an interesting art style. The entire video was created with still images and simple animations, masks, text, and a lens flare at the end for the Playstation logo.

2D: Photoshop: Poster

Sticking with the Orange Box theme, I decided to create a poster advertisement for the game. One of the requirements for this project was that it had to contain a scanned in 3D object as the major focus of the design. I tried to keep it simple and focus my design around a small cereal box that I painted orange then modified with shadow and bevel and emboss filters.

2D: Photoshop: Box Art

For this project, I decided to create new box art for the Orange Box, because I thought the packaging that valve decided to go with, while appropriate, was pretty ugly. For this project I composited found images, in-game screenshots (some that I took myself), and logos and miscellaneous things I created in Adobe Illustrator.

2D: Animation: Motion Graphics: Titles

This is an example of one of the five custom titles I created for the chemistry tutorial videos. Each one contains over 100 layers of animation (animated masks mainly) all tweaked by hand using Adobe After Effects.

2D: Animation: Motion Graphics: Movie Trailer: Titles

The last project for my After Effects class was to create a film trailer and make our own custom titling. All of the titling is hand animated and in a style that fits the memory erasing theme of the movie. This one took quite awhile since I had to edit clips of the movie into an entertaining trailer, and pay attention to subtle title themes.
